Mali offers bounties on leading terror suspects in Sahel crackdown

Mali targets Sahel terror leaders with high-value rewards

The Government of Mali has launched a decisive financial incentive program, offering bounties totaling between 500 million and 2 billion West African CFA francs for the capture or elimination of seven high-profile terrorist commanders operating in the Sahel region.

« The Malian authorities are committed to dismantling terror networks threatening national security, » stated a spokesperson from the Ministry of Security. « We urge citizens to assist our security forces by sharing credible intelligence that could lead to the neutralization of these individuals. »

Among those targeted is Iyad Ag Ghali, whose head is valued at 2 billion CFA francs—a sum reflecting his long-standing leadership of armed factions in the region. Other key figures include Hamadoun Hassan Sankaré, known as Amadou Kouffa, and Abdoulaye Mahamadou Bekaye Diallo, alias Doulé Bib de Nampala, each commanding a 1.5 billion CFA franc reward. Alghabass Ag Intallah’s capture is valued at 1 billion CFA francs.

Mali’s security apparatus has emphasized that these individuals are accused of orchestrating attacks on civilians and military installations, undermining stability across the country. Security agencies are actively pursuing leads to locate and apprehend the suspects.

« Public vigilance is critical in this effort, » officials noted. « Any information regarding the whereabouts or activities of these terrorists should be reported immediately to prevent further harm. »
