Marquinhos reflects on psg’s ligue 1 season and champions league final challenge

Paris Saint-Germain concluded their Ligue 1 campaign with a 2-1 defeat against Paris FC on the 34th and final matchday. While the result held no significant stakes for the already crowned champions, attention now swiftly shifts to the highly anticipated Champions League final.

Following the match, PSG captain Marquinhos offered his insights into the loss and provided a comprehensive assessment of the Ligue 1 season. He then turned his focus squarely to the monumental challenge of the upcoming Champions League final.

“we have two weeks to thoroughly prepare for our ultimate objective”

“We take the entire context into account,” the PSG captain conveyed. “Everything that unfolds here presents opportunities for growth, especially after a defeat. It’s clear we didn’t perform as required today. We absolutely needed to do better, particularly in the first half where our level of play was simply not up to standard. We did manage to find the net in the second half, but we must keep pushing forward.

We now have two crucial weeks to thoroughly prepare for our ultimate objective. The trophy ceremony was indeed a positive moment. Given the circumstances, it was the only thing we could do. We celebrated that title, a title we worked incredibly hard for throughout the entire year. This is a very challenging league to win, especially this season.

This marks an exciting end to the season, with significant challenges still ahead for us. Reaching a Champions League final is one of the most remarkable achievements that can happen in a season. Playing in a final – this is my third here in Paris in 13 years – truly underscores just how difficult it is to get to this stage. It’s an exhilarating conclusion to our season. Even with today’s loss, we will extract valuable lessons for improvement. I am certain our coach will be pushing us rigorously over these two weeks to ensure we are at our absolute best for this Champions League final.”
