The United Nations Security Council has issued a strong condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Mali, labeling them as heinous acts that pose severe threats to global peace and security.
In a formal statement released on Friday, council members denounced the brutal assaults carried out in multiple Malian regions on April 25 and subsequent days, including May 6. These cowardly attacks resulted in numerous casualties and injuries, prompting urgent international concern.
The Security Council emphasized the imperative of holding accountable not only the perpetrators but also those who finance, organize, and command such terror operations. Their communiqué underscored that terrorism, in any form or guise, remains an unjustifiable crime against humanity.
Further stressing the gravity of the situation, the council reiterated that all states must collaborate—through every available means and in strict adherence to the UN Charter and international law—to combat terror-related threats endangering global stability.
