In a significant political development, the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN), led by Cabral Libii, has officially gained a foothold in the nation’s governance, working alongside the ruling RDPC. This shift is underscored by the recent appointment of the Honorable Rolande Ngo Issi, a distinguished PCRN Deputy representing Nyong and Kellé, as a member of the esteemed Superior Council of Magistracy.
Rolande Ngo Issi’s pivotal role in Cameroon’s judiciary
The presidential decree, issued on June 2, 2026, officially confirmed the appointment of Rolande Ngo Issi to the Superior Council of Magistracy. This move signifies the PCRN’s increasing influence within the national political landscape, now participating directly in the country’s governance alongside the long-established RDPC.
Other notable figures joining the council include Sali Dahirou, former Minister of Public Service; Soppo Toute Marlyse, RDPC Deputy for Wouri; Claude Francis Moukouri, former Vice President of the Special Criminal Court (TCS); and esteemed individuals such as Albert Ekono Nna, Engelbert Bengono, Mekoulou Cunégonde Christine épouse Ngotty, and Roger Sockeng.
Born in Yaoundé on January 9, 1981, Rolande Ngo Issi brings a wealth of experience to her new judicial role. She concurrently serves as a Deputy in the National Assembly and holds the position of alternate member of the Superior Council of Magistracy, a direct appointment from President Paul Biya. Her leadership extends to her role as Deputy Secretary-General of the Network of Women Parliamentarians of Cameroon, a member of the national steering committee for the PCRN, and the party’s Regional Secretary-General for the Centre region.
Beyond her legislative and party duties, Ngo Issi has been the national president of the National Consumers Movement (MNC) since April 2016. Her academic background is equally impressive, with a Master’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Yaoundé 1 – Nkoa Ekele, a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Yaoundé 2 – Soa, and a diploma from the prestigious École Normale Supérieure (ENS).
Her commitment to consumer advocacy was further solidified by her election as president of the Cameroon Consumers Movement in 2016. A prominent public figure, Rolande Ngo Issi commands a substantial following on social media platforms, where she actively champions Cameroonian youth and promotes entrepreneurship.
During a recent parliamentary debate on budget orientation, Ngo Issi delivered a compelling address, raising critical questions about the nation’s economic direction. She highlighted the recurring theme of “import substitution” from the previous year’s discussions, challenging the government’s progress. “What can the State truly achieve six months later?” she questioned, pointing to persistent issues such as unreliable electricity, unstable internet connectivity, poor communication network quality in the digital age, a burdensome tax system, and the absence of equitable justice.
Furthermore, she directly confronted the Minister of Finance regarding the long-standing issue of police officers not receiving their salary advancements since 2017. “It certainly does not escape you that since 2017, no salary advancement has been processed for the Police, whereas in the army, it is automatic,” she underscored, drawing a stark contrast between the two forces.
Before and alongside her distinguished political career, Rolande Ngo Issi established herself as a successful entrepreneur and a personal development coach. She proudly notes her 11 years of experience as a teacher in rural communities, showcasing her diverse professional journey and dedication to public service.
