The Algerian Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, concluded his official visit to Niger today, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations between the two nations. The visit culminated in the departure from Niamey International Airport, where dignitaries gathered to bid farewell.
The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the Algerian-Nigerien Solidarity Power Plant, a 40-megawatt facility generously gifted to Niger by Algeria. This strategic infrastructure project underscores the deep ties of fraternity, cooperation, and solidarity between the two countries, while also supporting Niger’s efforts to bolster its energy sector.
Representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb co-chaired the inauguration ceremony alongside Niger’s Prime Minister, Mr. Ali Lamine Zeine Mahaman. The event symbolized the robust energy cooperation between Algeria and Niger, reinforcing commitments to mutual development.
Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb was received by Niger’s Head of State, General Abdourahamane Tiani. During the meeting, he conveyed President Tebboune’s fraternal greetings and reiterated Algeria’s dedication to strengthening ties of solidarity, cooperation, and mutual support between the two nations.
The visit concluded with a farewell ceremony at Niamey Airport, attended by Niger’s Prime Minister and Algeria’s Ambassador to Niger, Mr. Ahmed Saadi, who were present to honor the departing delegation.
