Ghanaian international winger, Antoine Semenyo, has been named on a distinguished shortlist for the Premier League’s Transfer of the Season award.
Semenyo completed his move from Bournemouth to Manchester City in the winter of 2026. Since then, he has made a significant impact, contributing 7 goals and 1 assist in 17 Premier League matches for City.
His impressive form was consistent throughout the season; prior to joining City, he had already registered 10 goals and 3 assists in 20 appearances for Bournemouth during the same campaign.
The Premier League highlighted Semenyo’s remarkable contribution, stating: “Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City) has played 17 matches, securing 10 victories, 5 draws, and only 2 defeats, while directly contributing 7 goals and 1 assist. Having arrived at Manchester City in January from Bournemouth, Semenyo seamlessly carried his strong first-half-of-the-season form into his new club, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in his 17 appearances. Notably, in February, he netted three goals and created one assist in just five games, earning him the prestigious EA SPORTS Player of the Month title for the first time.”
The Ghanaian talent faces strong competition for this esteemed award from several other impactful new signings. The list of nominees includes João Pedro (Chelsea), Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal), Senne Lammens (Manchester United), Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth), Granit Xhaka (Sunderland), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United), and Rayan Cherki (Manchester City).
