Bénin’s president romuald wadagni arrives in Ouagadougou for official visit

Bénin’s President, Romuald Wadagni, landed in Ouagadougou on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, commencing an official friendship and working visit to Burkina Faso.

Upon his arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, personally greeted the visiting head of state. The two leaders then stood together for the playing of their national anthems, followed by a review of military honors.

Following the ceremonial reception, the Burkinabè and Béninois presidents held a private, one-on-one discussion in the airport’s VIP lounge.

Subsequently, the two West African leaders proceeded to the Koulouba Presidential Palace, where a formal working session was scheduled to take place.
