Chad: illegal slaughterhouse shut down in Farik Aguek district of Abéché
An unauthorized abattoir was recently dismantled in Abéché, significantly enhancing public health and food safety. This decisive action halts illegal practices and highlights the strong commitment of local authorities.
In a concerted effort to bolster public hygiene and safeguard food security, the administration of Abéché’s 1st arrondissement, acting under the direction of the commune’s mayor, successfully carried out an operation this Thursday to close down an illicit slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek district.
Led by Hissein Hassan Tabit, assistant to the delegated administrator, this crucial intervention brought an end to illegal slaughtering activities that flagrantly disregarded established sanitary and regulatory standards. During the raid, several heads of livestock were discovered on the premises, indicating the scale of the unauthorized operations.
District authorities have unequivocally reiterated that all animal slaughtering must exclusively take place within officially approved facilities to guarantee the wholesomeness and safety of meat destined for public consumption. They further announced that rigorous control operations would continue to combat any practices that jeopardize the health and well-being of the population.
Through this resolute action, the municipality of Abéché emphatically reaffirms its steadfast commitment to upholding hygiene regulations, protecting its consumers, and fostering a healthy environment for all residents of Chad.
