The meeting took place following the Tripartite Forum involving Chad, Cameroon, and the Central African Republic. The Cameroonian delegation included officials from the Port of Douala, the Chadian Shippers’ Council, and the Central African Shippers’ Council.
Key topics included the outcomes of the N’Djamena Forum, progress on recommendations from the 2024 Kribi edition, the status of the CamTchad project, and the condition of the trans-Cameroonian corridor. Both sides also discussed the difficulties encountered by transporters along the Douala-N’Djamena axis.
Cameroon’s Transport Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing trade flow to Chad. Chad’s Prime Minister assured that Cameroonian drivers and motorcyclists detained in Chad would receive a favorable resolution. He also highlighted ongoing roadblocks that disrupt goods transport along the corridor and tasked the Cameroonian minister with relaying these concerns to Cameroon’s authorities.
