Kenya and Chad strengthen ties highlighted by President Ruto
On May 15, Kenyan President William Ruto commended the robust relationship between Kenya and Chad, as well as the proactive stance of Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno in advancing international security and supporting the Africa Forward Summit.
Following a bilateral meeting at the State House in Nairobi, President Ruto underscored the depth of diplomatic relations between the two nations, describing them as “anchored in shared values, mutual respect, and African solidarity.” He emphasized the shared commitment of both countries to champion common positions that advance Africa’s interests, foster continental progress, and strengthen global cooperation.
Highlighting Chad’s involvement in the United Nations-backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, President Ruto praised the country’s contribution to international efforts aimed at restoring stability, peace, and optimism in the Caribbean nation.
Chad’s pivotal role at the Africa Forward Summit
President Ruto also expressed gratitude to his Chadian counterpart for Chad’s significant role in ensuring the success of the Africa Forward Summit, held this week in Nairobi. The event brought together African leaders alongside international partners to redefine economic, political, and security collaboration frameworks.
With Africa’s growing influence on the global stage, the summit served as a platform to align strategies that prioritize sustainable development, innovation, and collective security across the continent.
