Olympique Lyonnais sought to have their inaugural Ligue 1 fixture against Toulouse, originally slated for August 22, 2026, moved. The Lyon-based club anticipated a potential Champions League playoff tie should they successfully navigate the third preliminary round. However, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has definitively turned down this request.

The opening weekend of Ligue 1 is set to unfold between August 21 and 23, 2026. With Olympique Lyonnais facing an away trip to Toulouse, their appeal for a schedule adjustment has been unsuccessful.
