Mali offers up to 2 billion cfa francs for terror suspects

Government intensifies efforts against terrorism with substantial rewards

The Malian government has unveiled a financial incentive scheme, offering between 500 million and 2 billion West African CFA francs for credible information leading to the arrest or neutralization of seven individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activities.

The announcement was made public through a statement signed by the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, General Daoud Aly Mohammedine. The initiative is framed as a critical step in strengthening the national fight against terrorism and safeguarding public safety.

Key targets in the government’s counter-terrorism strategy

The individuals named in the communiqué are accused of playing significant roles in planning, organizing, or executing attacks that have destabilized security across various regions of Mali. Among the most prominent figures listed are:

  • Iyad Ag Ghali (alias Abou Al-Fadel)
  • Hamadoun Hassan Sangaré (also known as Amadou Kouffa or Môbbô)
  • Abdoulaye Mamadou Bakaye Diallo (alias Jouleybib de Nampala or Sidi)
  • Alghabass Ag Intalla
  • Sedan Ag Hita (also identified as Outhman Al Ansari, Abdel Hakim Al Kidali, or Al Qayrawani)
  • Bilal Ag Acherif
  • Abderrahmane Al-Batna Al-Jazairi

The authorities emphasize that these suspects remain the focus of active investigations by security forces due to their alleged participation in multiple high-risk operations.

Public urged to support security operations

In addition to the financial rewards, the government is calling on citizens to heighten their awareness and collaborate closely with defense and security services. Anyone with information that could assist in locating or apprehending these individuals is encouraged to share it with the relevant authorities.

This initiative coincides with ongoing military and security operations aimed at dismantling armed terrorist groups operating in several parts of the country.
