Niamey, July 27, 2026 – High-level discussions among leaders of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) continue, unfolding alongside celebrations marking the third anniversary of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP)’s ascension to power. This Monday, Major General Mohamed Toumba, the Minister of State, Minister of Interior, Public Security, and Territorial Administration, received Bassolma Bazié, who serves as the President of the Burkinabè National Commission for the AES Confederation.
Visiting Niger to participate in the commemorative events, the Burkinabè official made a courtesy call at the Ministry of Interior. This significant meeting provided both dignitaries a vital platform to deliberate on the pressing concerns currently mobilizing AES member states.
Reinforcing collaboration and security initiatives within the Confederation
During their discussions, Bassolma Bazié commended the proactive measures implemented by the Nigerien authorities in the realm of security.
