Ousmane Sonko has delivered a bold statement through a recent social media announcement.
Following extensive discussions with Senegal’s President, the two leaders confirmed progress on certain points while significant disagreements remain—particularly regarding the role of the majority coalition within the executive framework.
«This morning, a lengthy meeting took place between the President of the Republic and myself, where areas of agreement were identified, but key disagreements persist, especially concerning the position and function of the majority bloc within the executive structure, whose exact composition remains unclear,» Sonko explained.
«As a result, PASTEF-Les Patriotes will not participate in the next government and will not be represented by any minister,» the official statement concluded.
