No-confidence motion: Ousmane Sonko ready to challenge Al Aminou Lo’s government

During a recent gathering in Touba, Ousmane Sonko issued a stern warning, indicating his readiness to file a no-confidence motion against the current government. The prominent PASTEF leader unequivocally stated that his party stands prepared to utilize this parliamentary mechanism to challenge practices deemed unacceptable.
At an event held yesterday in Touba, part of PASTEF’s 48-hour program, Ousmane Sonko directly addressed the possibility of a no-confidence motion targeting the government led by Prime Minister Al Aminou Lo. The leader of PASTEF made it clear that his political movement would not hesitate to activate this parliamentary procedure if he believes current governmental directions persist.
“We will deploy every legal instrument at our disposal, including the motion of censure, to bring down the government, and we will do so as many times as necessary,” Ousmane Sonko declared to his party’s enthusiastic supporters. The president of PASTEF justified this stance by asserting that his political formation cannot condone practices that contradict the core principles for which its members have tirelessly fought.
“We have struggled for a decade, enduring sacrifices and honoring martyrs. We will not permit such practices to take root,” he emphasized. Through this powerful statement, Ousmane Sonko has positioned the no-confidence motion as a central element of his political strategy against the government. He views this parliamentary recourse as a legitimate means to oppose decisions he disapproves of, affirming PASTEF’s readiness to invoke it whenever circumstances demand.
