The High Authority for Party Regulation (HARP) of Pastef-Les Patriotes has released the provisional list of candidates for the upcoming party leadership election ahead of the 2026 congress. In its official decision, the body overseeing the internal electoral process confirmed that, at this stage, only Ousmane Sonko’s candidacy has been deemed valid.

No other submissions have been approved so far, according to the document made public by HARP. The upcoming Pastef-Les Patriotes congress, scheduled for the coming weeks, will notably determine the party’s next president.
