After a nail-biting final, Paris Saint-Germain secured back-to-back Champions League titles by overcoming Arsenal in a penalty shootout (1-1, 4-3 on penalties). The English side struck first through Kai Havertz in the 5th minute, but the Parisians equalized from the spot shortly after the hour mark, courtesy of Ousmane Dembélé. Luis Enrique’s side created multiple chances, particularly through Bradley Barcola late in the match, though Arsenal protested a potential penalty for a challenge by Nuno Mendes inside the box.

The best decision of my life

The shootout proved decisive. While Nuno Mendes’ attempt was saved by David Raya, Gonçalo Ramos, Désiré Doué, Achraf Hakimi, and Lucas Beraldo all converted their penalties, as Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhães failed to find the target. Désiré Doué, who delivered a composed penalty and starred throughout the match, expressed his joy post-game: « I love this club so much; this isn’t the end. We’ll go for the third. » João Neves, whose stellar performance left a mark, was equally effusive: « Joining PSG was the best decision of my life. »
