Vitinha shines as PSG claims back-to-back Champions League titles
Paris Saint-Germain’s Portuguese midfielder Vitinha has been named man of the match in the UEFA Champions League final, following his side’s dramatic victory over Arsenal (1-1, 4-3 on penalties).
Moments after lifting the coveted trophy alongside his teammates, Vitinha was honored with the man of the match award. His performance was nothing short of stellar, particularly in orchestrating the team’s buildup play. The Portuguese international dominated possession with a record 162 touches of the ball and completed 141 of his 150 passes—both standout contributions in PSG’s triumph.
UEFA’s technical observers were quick to praise his impact: “Vitinha was the standout performer for Paris this evening. He took control of the midfield, especially in the second half, driving his team forward and dictating the pace of play. It was an outstanding display.”
Vitinha’s evening, however, was not without its hiccup. He was forced to leave the field in the 105th minute of extra time, visibly struggling with a left leg injury. The 24-year-old was replaced by Lucas Beraldo, leaving fans to hope for his swift recovery.
