In a sharp escalation of rhetoric, Ousmane Sonko has issued stern warnings to Al Aminou Lo, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Senegal, following recent public statements that raised eyebrows across the political spectrum.

Addressing reporters in Dakar, Sonko made no attempt to conceal his frustration with the Prime Minister’s recent remarks, delivering a series of veiled warnings that signal deeper friction within Senegal’s political landscape.
Sonko urges technocrat to stay in his lane
The former Prime Minister, known for his uncompromising stance, advised Al Aminou Lo to refrain from overstepping his role. « I strongly advise him to restrict himself to what he does best—handling data and figures, » Sonko stated. « If he insists on being called a technocrat, then let him act like one. »
Unresolved tensions spark fresh controversy
Sonko went further, alleging that the new Prime Minister played a significant role in exacerbating tensions between the ruling Pastef party and the presidency. « We are fully aware of the part he played in the discord between Pastef and the head of state, » he asserted. « Until now, we have chosen not to disclose all the details. He would do well to tread carefully. »
The leader of Pastef also criticized Al Aminou Lo’s public remarks during the government’s recent unveiling. « Yesterday, as the new cabinet was announced, he took it upon himself to lecture others. Perhaps he should start by setting an example himself, » Sonko remarked.
Veiled threats and undisclosed information
In a tone that left little room for doubt, Sonko hinted at possessing sensitive information that remains unpublished. « We know everything, » he declared. « We have deliberately withheld certain facts, but no one should underestimate our resolve. » His words carried an unmistakable warning, leaving observers to interpret the full weight of his message.
