Air Côte d’Ivoire and Air France codeshare alliance launches Paris-Abidjan routes October 2026

Read aloudAbout 2 min

Effective October 25, 2026, travelers between Paris and Abidjan will benefit from an expanded codeshare agreement between Air Côte d’Ivoire and Air France. The reciprocal partnership enables both carriers to sell seats on each other’s flights under their own branding, doubling scheduling options without changing the operating airline.

How the codeshare expands travel choices

The new framework allows:

  • Air France to market seats on Air Côte d’Ivoire-operated Paris–Abidjan flights under its flight numbers and booking systems.
  • Air Côte d’Ivoire to sell Paris–Abidjan connections operated by Air France using its own airline codes and loyalty program, sMiles.

This integration delivers more frequent departures, improved connection windows, and seamless booking across both carriers, all without altering the physical flight path or aircraft.

Loyalty programs to merge by year-end 2026

The airlines’ history dates back to 2012, when Air France became a founding and strategic investor in Air Côte d’Ivoire. Building on this foundation, both carriers will link their loyalty ecosystems before December 31, 2026:

  • sMiles members can earn and redeem miles on Air France-operated Paris–Abidjan flights, valid across Air France’s full international network.
  • Flying Blue users will accumulate and redeem miles on Air Côte d’Ivoire’s Abidjan–Paris services, expanding redemption opportunities throughout Air Côte d’Ivoire’s route map.

Regional ambitions and future routes

For Air Côte d’Ivoire, this codeshare marks the first step in a broader strategy to deepen Air France’s global distribution network. The airline plans to extend codeshare coverage to additional Air France routes during the first half of 2027, positioning Abidjan as a more accessible gateway for international travelers.

Increased connectivity and combined marketing efforts are expected to enhance the profile of Abidjan as a key African aviation hub, while giving Air Côte d’Ivoire broader access to European and global markets.
