During the founding assembly of Khalifa Sall’s party, Taxawu Sénégal, Aïssata Tall Sall delivered a sharp political address, focusing on critiques of the current leadership and the need for a unified, strategic opposition.
Criticism of the ruling power
Addressing the current authorities, she remarked: “These individuals have denied it; you are not the power. It is already evident that they do not follow legal principles; they are not kings.”
The former minister also highlighted the importance of maintaining political discipline and determination. “With heads held high, we must always move forward. Courage is essential, and you possess it. Intelligence is vital, and we are capable. But in politics, strategy is paramount—a serious strategy for the benefit of Sénégal,” she stated.
A roadmap for political victory
Looking ahead to future polls, she called for a progressive show of strength. She asserted that after the local and legislative elections, the opposition will demonstrate its influence, eventually leading up to the presidential contest.
To conclude, Aïssata Tall Sall shared words of encouragement for the activists in attendance: “I want to wish you success and offer all our prayers. You are in your rightful place alongside your comrades. We will stand by you, and together, we will strive to reclaim power.”
