Burkina Faso and Benin deepen security and trade ties

The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, received his Beninese counterpart, Romuald Wadagni, in Ouagadougou for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. The talks centered on security collaboration and economic partnerships, with a strong focus on combating terrorism and advancing infrastructure projects.

Both leaders emphasized the critical role of the Port of Cotonou for Burkina Faso’s trade and logistics. They also agreed to expedite preparations for the fifth session of the Great Joint Commission for Cooperation.

The visit concluded with an official invitation from the Beninese president to his Burkinabè counterpart, signaling a commitment to further deepen ties.
