As Kumasi, Ghana, in the Ashanti region, gears up for its 2nd edition of Patriotic Days on November 28-29, 2025, the Contribution of the People for Education and Health (CPES) association has launched a significant initiative. This marks their first-ever international caravan, aptly named the National Caravan of Patriotic Commitment (CNEP), scheduled to run from November 27 to December 1, 2025, directly within Kumasi.
Following successful domestic legs from Ouagadougou to Pô and then to Bobo-Dioulasso, this groundbreaking international journey aims to further solidify the deep historical, cultural, and social ties between Burkina Faso and Ghana. The caravan commenced its journey from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on November 27, 2025, reaching Kumasi by November 28, 2025, to a warm reception.
Kamanga Mathias Zida, Coordinator of the CPES association, articulated the caravan’s core mission during its Ouagadougou-Tamale-Kumasi route. The primary objective is to cultivate patriotic commitment among citizens and galvanize the Burkinabè diaspora’s vital contribution towards the success of the Progressive Popular Revolution (RPP).
Oumarou Kologo, the Consul General of Burkina Faso in Kumasi, alongside his dedicated team, extended a profoundly warm welcome to the delegation from Ouagadougou. This hospitable reception included a meaningful exchange held at the esteemed House of Burkina Faso in Kumasi.
“Diplomats for a day, diplomats forever. You are diplomats today, because you have come from Faso to champion our national colors; to bear witness that Burkina Faso endures, that Burkina Faso stands tall,” affirmed the Consul General, underscoring the deep significance of the delegation’s mission.
Consul Kologo also conveyed the profound joy felt by the consulate in hosting their Burkinabè counterparts on Ghanaian soil. “We are truly delighted to welcome you. We are immensely pleased that Kumasi was chosen for this endeavor. Your visit brings us great honor,” he added, emphasizing the spirit of shared fraternity.
Echoing the sentiments of the Consul General, Adama Blaise Kiendrébéogo, Delegate of the Burkinabè in the Ashanti region to the High Council of Burkinabè Abroad, extended a warm greeting to the delegation, recognizing them as individuals who arrived “as revolutionaries.” This acknowledgement highlights the profound impact and symbolic weight of their journey.
Beyond the formal events of the Kumasi Patriotic Days, the caravan participants have planned a series of engaging community activities. These include the distribution of stickers, t-shirts, and banners prominently featuring the images of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, and his Ghanaian counterpart, John Dramani Mahama.
Further demonstrating their commitment to community development and education, the delegates intend to donate notebooks, also adorned with images of the two presidents, to various schools in both Kumasi and Tamale. Additionally, a crucial fundraising effort is planned to bolster the Patriotic Fund in Burkina Faso, providing tangible support for national initiatives.
