The official tour of Mr. Jean Pierre HILLAH, the newly appointed Governor for Lions Club International District 403-A2, commenced its inaugural leg in Côte d’Ivoire. On Monday, August 31, 2026, I observed his reception by Dr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, the Minister of Planning and Development, at his office.
District 403-A2 encompasses Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, featuring five distinct regions situated within Ivorian territory. The primary focus of Lions Club International interventions centers on youth capacity building and dedicated environmental protection efforts.
The organization unequivocally affirmed its steadfast commitment to actively support the implementation of the ambitious National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030.
The Minister of Planning and Development underscored the opportune timing of this significant visit, noting that Côte d’Ivoire had recently embarked upon a fresh cycle of its National Development Plan.
The PND 2026-2030 fundamentally embodies the strategic vision of President Alassane Ouattara, aiming to propel Côte d’Ivoire to the esteemed status of an upper-middle-income nation by the year 2030.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the robust mobilization of partners actively rallying in support of the PND 2026-2030. He reaffirmed that the government’s strategic actions are meticulously aligned with both the Sustainable Development Goals (ODD) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
These productive discussions have paved a clear path for enhanced cooperation, particularly in vital sectors such as youth development, public health, education, and environmental stewardship.
