Finadev Tchad liquidation after cobac disciplinary action

The Central African Banking Commission (COBAC) has issued a disciplinary decision to strip Financial Development Tchad (FINADEV Tchad S.A.) of its microfinance license, officially placing the institution under liquidation.

License revoked following regulatory review

A formal announcement dated February 5, 2026, confirmed the withdrawal of FINADEV Tchad S.A.’s second-category microfinance authorization, headquartered in N’Djamena. The decision, enforced on May 21, triggered the institution’s immediate transition into liquidation status.

Liquidation process and timeline

Under the supervision of the COBAC, the liquidation process has been initiated with a one-year mandate, extendable if circumstances require. This measure ensures an orderly resolution while protecting depositors and stakeholders.
