Hadj 2026: ORGEP issues strict safety and discipline guidelines for Chadian pilgrims

The General Directorate of the National Office for the Organization of the Pilgrimage (ORGEP) has issued a formal notice to Chadian pilgrims preparing for the 2026 Hajj, emphasizing strict adherence to safety, health, and discipline protocols set by Saudi authorities.

This directive follows the conclusion of the international Hajj conference held in Jeddah on May 20, 2026, where representatives from over 50 countries, including a delegation led by General Idriss Dokony Adiker, addressed critical measures for a smooth and secure pilgrimage.

Key guidelines for Chadian pilgrims

The ORGEP’s communication outlines several key restrictions and recommendations:

  • No political or partisan religious discussions: Any conversations or gatherings with political or religious bias are strictly prohibited, including in hotels and holy sites such as Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
  • Unauthorized hosting forbidden: Pilgrims are not permitted to accommodate individuals who are not officially registered in hotels or pilgrimage sites.
  • Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat: Saudi Arabia’s high temperatures necessitate staying indoors between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to prevent heat-related illnesses. Long walks between ritual sites are discouraged to preserve energy.
  • Delegation for vulnerable pilgrims: Elderly, sick, or physically challenged individuals may appoint a representative to perform the Jamarat stoning ritual on their behalf.
  • Emergency contact: In case of urgent needs, pilgrims should dial the Saudi authorities’ emergency line: 1966.

Ensuring a safe and orderly Hajj 2026

The ORGEP underscores that these measures are designed to protect pilgrims and maintain the smooth execution of the Hajj. The office has called on the Chadian pilgrim community to prioritize compliance with these rules for their own safety and the collective success of the pilgrimage.
