This legally binding framework formalizes the Kingdom’s role in a multinational initiative aimed at restoring security and fostering humanitarian recovery in the war-torn region through strategic peacekeeping contributions.

Diplomatic meeting in Rabat

The Supreme Head and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and President of the Al-Quds Committee, along with Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, and Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, welcomed Nickolay Mladenov, High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, this Wednesday at the Administration’s headquarters.

This meeting took place in the presence of the Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, and the Army Corps General, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie.

The visiting delegation included officials from the Gaza Peace Council and the Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.

Morocco’s pledge to peacekeeping excellence

This visit marks the fulfillment of the Kingdom’s commitments as a founding member of the Peace Council, in line with the Royal directives announced during the inaugural meeting held in Washington under the presidency of Donald Trump.

The highlight of the session was the signing of the agreement formalizing Morocco’s participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, as confirmed by a statement from the National Defense Administration.

Proven track record in peace operations

During discussions, the Moroccan delegation underscored that Morocco’s involvement in the ISF reflects the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to peace, international cooperation, and solidarity. This participation will significantly contribute to establishing lasting peace and security in the Middle East.

The delegation also highlighted Morocco’s extensive experience in United Nations peacekeeping operations, as well as its consistent regional and international efforts to promote peace and stability. Special emphasis was placed on the Royal initiatives spearheaded by His Majesty the King, particularly regional integration projects that advance both security and social progress.

Representatives from the Gaza Peace Council and the ISF Commander warmly commended Morocco’s decision to join this peace initiative by deploying high-ranking officers from the FAR to the ISF joint command, along with personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the National Security Directorate, and establishing a field military hospital.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties signed the agreement formalizing Morocco’s participation in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.

This agreement establishes the legal and operational framework for Morocco’s involvement, demonstrating a shared determination to contribute through tangible humanitarian and security actions toward building a climate of peace and stability in the region, the statement concluded.
