The Kingdom of Morocco has officially signed the participation agreement for the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, marking a significant step under the directives of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), as well as Chairman of the Al Qods Committee.
The signing ceremony took place in Rabat and was led by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita alongside Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration, in the presence of top military officials. The Moroccan delegation received the agreement from Nickolay Mladenov, Special Representative of the Gaza Peace Council.
Humanitarian and security-driven commitment
According to a statement from the National Defense Administration, this agreement solidifies Morocco’s role as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council, aligning with the royal vision articulated during the council’s inaugural meeting in Washington. Officials emphasized the Kingdom’s dedication to peace, cooperation, and international solidarity, while highlighting the FAR’s extensive experience in UN-backed peacekeeping operations.
The Moroccan contribution will include:
- Deployment of senior FAR officers within the ISF joint command;
- Participation of Royal Gendarmerie and National Security Directorate personnel;
- Establishment of a field military hospital.
The signed accord outlines the legal and operational framework for Morocco’s involvement, reflecting a shared commitment to restoring peace and security in Gaza through humanitarian and security initiatives.
