Mustapha Ngouana: « Our nation is stagnant, Cameroon is on autopilot »

Mustapha Ngouana asserts that Cameroon is now accustomed to unkept promises and disregarded commitments.

During his appearance on the program “Droit de réponse,” Mustapha Ngouana highlighted a recurring pattern in Cameroon: a failure to honor commitments.

“The President of the Republic of Cameroon has repeatedly made decisions with deadlines that were never met. Let’s consider a few examples. Regarding the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), the President stated it would be held on schedule, but it wasn’t. The President had 50 years to prepare for the fiftieth anniversary of reunification; it was supposed to be celebrated in 2011, yet it took place in 2014,” Ngouana elaborated during the broadcast.

The discussion’s theme centered on “Broken Trust: Public Opinion Facing Unfulfilled Promises.” Ngouana addressed this topic by emphasizing the “constant missteps” evident in the Head of State’s governance.

“I believe the President is caught in perpetual errors within his administration. Our nation is at a standstill. When people even refer to it as poor governance, I think they are being too kind; it is, in fact, a lack of governance. Cameroon is simply running on autopilot.”
