Ousmane sonko urges pastef leaders in mbacké to solidify unity

During the official inauguration of Pastef’s new headquarters in Mbacké, party president Ousmane Sonko issued a compelling call for solidarity among his political officials. He strongly cautioned them against internal rivalries, which he believes could significantly undermine the party’s momentum. Addressing the senior members of his movement directly, the Pastef leader underscored the critical importance of preserving cohesion, asserting that it is the sole guarantor of success in the political battles ahead.

While acknowledging that individual ambition is not inherently negative, Sonko warned that it becomes problematic when it compromises collective unity and hinders the party’s operational effectiveness. Confident in his movement’s widespread popular backing, Ousmane Sonko affirmed that Pastef remains robust, bolstered by the steadfast support of at least 70% of the populace. Consequently, he believes the party faces no truly formidable external adversaries. For Sonko, the gravest danger originates from within Pastef itself, prompting his strong emphasis on the individual and collective accountability of its leadership.

The President of the National Assembly subsequently urged all officials to collaborate closely and unitedly confront future electoral challenges. He also issued a clear warning: should this essential unity falter, he would not hesitate to assume his responsibilities and make the necessary decisions, a statement that suggested potential sanctions or internal restructuring could follow.
