The exhibition, featuring a carefully curated selection of vintage photographs, archival press clippings, and historical documents—primarily sourced from Le Soleil’s archives—offers a compelling narrative of the evolving relationship between Dakar and Rabat. preserving and nurturing a legacy for future generations
Morocco’s Ambassador to Senegal, Hassan Naciri, emphasized the exhibition’s deeper purpose during his remarks. He described it not merely as a retrospective but as a call to action, emphasizing the shared responsibility to safeguard and pass down this legacy to the next generation. “This exhibition allows us to revisit the defining chapters of an exceptional partnership, while also reminding us of our duty to protect this common heritage and ensure its transmission,” he stated. He further added, “It falls upon us to nurture this relationship, enrich it continuously, and ensure its continuity. This legacy was entrusted to us by our monarchs, Senegalese presidents, and all those who have contributed to its foundation.”
education and cultural exchange: pillars of cooperation
Lamine Niang, Director-General of Le Soleil, highlighted the exhibition’s role in showcasing the tangible outcomes of Morocco-Senegal collaboration. “This partnership exemplifies how authentic African solidarity can thrive when built on trust and a shared vision, transcending mere transactional interests,” he noted. He pointed to ongoing educational exchanges, with thousands of Senegalese students pursuing higher education in Moroccan universities and Moroccan students contributing to Senegal’s academic dynamism.
a bridge between past and future
Beyond its nostalgic appeal, the exhibition serves as a living testament to the resilience of the Morocco-Senegal relationship. It stands as a reminder of the potential that lies in deepening cooperation, fostering mutual growth, and charting a collaborative path toward shared prosperity.
