A pivotal three-day training session in N’Djamena has equipped transport officials with digital tools to modernize Chad’s land freight sector.

Tchad freight digitalization training in progress

N’Djamena, Tchad — The National Bureau of Land Freight (BNFT) has successfully wrapped up a landmark three-day training program in N’Djamena dedicated to digitalizing land freight services. Held at the Kempinski Hotel, the intensive workshop brought together transport controllers and agents from across Chad, including N’Djamena and Mayo-Kebbi, to explore cutting-edge digital solutions designed to revolutionize the country’s land transport sector.

Key digital tools introduced to enhance efficiency

During the closing ceremony, Brahim Mahamat Adoum, chair of the steering committee, commended participants for their active engagement throughout the program. He highlighted several critical modules covering digital technologies and electronic freight management systems that were demonstrated during the workshop. These included digital interface navigation, cargo declaration processes, carrier management, agency settings configuration, and system operational parameters. Organizers emphasized that these new tools will significantly boost administrative efficiency and improve real-time operational monitoring across the country.

Government commitment to digital transformation

The BNFT president stressed that this initiative aligns with national efforts to modernize public services and accelerate digital transformation across Chad. He noted that the transition to digital systems for Mandatory Waybill (LVO) and Axle Tax (TAE) is essential for strengthening regulatory oversight and ensuring smoother transport operations. Technical partners TRADELINK SOLUTIONS and SERVOO Consulting were recognized for their critical role in delivering expert guidance throughout the training. Participants were encouraged to apply their newly acquired skills to support the ongoing digitalization of Chad’s land freight sector.

e-BNFT platform: the future of freight documentation

Saleh Youssouf Erda, Director General of the steering committee, confirmed that the workshop focused on training officials to use and manage the new e-BNFT digital platform. He described this transition as a major shift from traditional paper-based systems to a fully digitized framework. The e-BNFT platform now enables instant issuance and verification of essential documents such as the Mandatory Waybill and Axle Tax, while facilitating contactless processing of freight documents via computer or mobile device.

Strengthening state revenue and national statistics

Erda also emphasized the platform’s role in securing state revenue and generating reliable statistical data for improved economic planning. He underscored that this digital leap is part of the broader modernization vision championed by President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. Following the workshop, participants were urged to integrate the platform into daily operations, master its features, and serve as mentors to colleagues who missed the training. The event concluded on a positive note, with a renewed commitment to overcoming digitalization challenges in public administration and land transport across Chad.
