
The formal opening session of the General Assembly unfolded on July 9 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, marking a significant international parliamentary gathering. Among the distinguished participants, a delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly was present. The event drew high-ranking Cameroonian officials, including the President of the Senate, the President of the National Assembly, and the President of the Economic and Social Council. Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), also attended. The assembly convened over 350 delegates, notably featuring nearly 20 presidents and vice-presidents from APF member parliaments, alongside representatives from various diplomatic missions and international organizations.
The agenda for the 51st General Assembly of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly centered on critical global concerns. Discussions spanned vital areas such as political governance, democratic principles, economic development, social welfare, cultural exchange, and environmental sustainability. This comprehensive focus aimed to bolster parliamentary collaboration and foster innovative solutions to the shared challenges facing the broader Francophone community.
