Even as the global football spectacle of the World Cup captivates audiences, the parallel universe of the transfer market has officially sprung to life. This bustling activity includes players currently participating in the tournament. A prime example is Gonçalo Ramos, the Paris Saint-Germain forward, whose next career chapter is already contractually charted, with only the final signature pending.
An agreement has been successfully brokered between Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan for the transfer of Gonçalo Ramos. The deal, confirmed this Saturday, states: “Gonçalo Ramos will depart PSG and join AC Milan. The clubs have just finalized an agreement. This operation is valued at 70 million euros, inclusive of bonuses.”
PSG’s second highest player sale in history
The 25-year-old Portuguese goal-scorer, who arrived in the French capital in August 2023 from Benfica—initially on a 20 million euro paid loan before a definitive transfer costing approximately 65 million euros—is now poised to become the most expensive acquisition in the Rossoneri’s history. His arrival surpasses the 50 million euro fee AC Milan paid for Rafael Leao from Lille in 2019.
From the Parisian club’s perspective, this transaction represents an exceptional financial return. Only the transfer of Neymar to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in 2023, which commanded 90 million euros, has generated a larger sum for the capital club. During his tenure at PSG, Gonçalo Ramos made a total of 131 appearances across all competitions, contributing significantly with 45 goals and nine assists.
