Amadou Ba unveils sonko-touré phone call details

The deputy alleges that the former Prime Minister made highly critical comments about Bassirou Diomaye Faye during this crucial conversation.
During a recent press briefing organized by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba disclosed what he termed the “unvarnished truth” regarding telephone exchanges said to have occurred between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré. These alleged calls took place while the current Prime Minister, Sonko, was incarcerated. This revelation adds another layer to Ba’s defense of the government leader amidst ongoing controversies surrounding the management of public funds.
According to the Pastef deputy, former Prime Minister Aminata Touré reportedly expressed strong disapproval of Bassirou Diomaye Faye during one of these calls. Ba quoted her as saying: “Diomaye is incapable of leading this country. If you leave him here, he will not last two years.”
Such a statement, the parliamentarian argues, stands in stark contrast to Aminata Touré’s current political stance. He suggests she is attempting to “rewrite history” and alter past events to align with the shifting dynamics of political power.
Despite the increasingly sharp exchanges between the two political factions, Amadou Ba urged calm and moderation, advocating for restraint over escalation. “He pushes us towards violence, and we will not engage in it,” Ba declared, reiterating Pastef’s commitment to fostering political debate rather than direct confrontation.
