The President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, made a firm declaration following a recent violent incursion: “We will continue this fight with renewed determination until this threat is completely eradicated”, he stated on Facebook. His words came in response to an attack carried out the day before by an armed faction of Boko Haram on the Barka Tolorom military base, located on the Chadian side of Lake Chad, which resulted in 24 soldiers losing their lives.
