The much-anticipated draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers was conducted this Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt. All 48 participating teams now know their group-stage opponents as the path to the tournament begins taking shape.
The 48 teams have been divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two finishers from each group advancing to the final tournament. This edition of the CAN will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, setting the stage for an exciting continental competition.
The qualifying campaign will unfold in two phases: two matchdays in September and October 2026, followed by the concluding fixtures in March 2027. Teams will battle fiercely to secure their spots in the prestigious tournament.
