Côte d’Ivoire secures record $80 billion investment pledge for 2026-2030 development plan

President Ouattara celebrates historic financial mobilization for Côte d’Ivoire’s future

« This extraordinary achievement reflects the unwavering confidence the international community has placed in Côte d’Ivoire, » declared President Alassane Ouattara following the conclusion of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group meetings held in Abidjan on July 8-9, 2026. The two-day event brought together over 2,000 investors from 49 nations, representing the highest level of financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business associations, public and private enterprises, and development partners.

Unprecedented financial commitment exceeds expectations

The landmark gathering resulted in investment commitments totaling $80 billion (47,820 billion F CFA), far surpassing the original target of 11,138.2 billion F CFA. This financial windfall represents nearly four times the anticipated funding, signaling strong international confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory.

Transformative vision for national progress

The PND 2026-2030 outlines an ambitious national agenda with a total investment volume of 114,838.5 billion F CFA ($209 billion) over five years. A remarkable 70.2% of this funding will come from the private sector, which President Ouattara identified as the primary engine for economic and social transformation. The plan focuses on six critical pillars:

  • Peace and stability as the foundation for progress
  • Agriculture and agro-industry modernization
  • Private sector development and industrialization
  • Human capital enhancement through education and skills training
  • Strategic infrastructure development
  • Governance modernization and state efficiency

Economic transformation targets

To achieve its goals, Côte d’Ivoire aims to transition to upper-middle-income status by 2030, with ambitious macroeconomic targets including a per capita GDP of $4,500 and poverty reduction below 20%. President Ouattara emphasized the state’s role in converting these financial commitments into tangible benefits for all Ivorians through expanded access to quality education, healthcare, transportation networks, employment opportunities, and shared prosperity.

« Together, with confidence and determination, we will continue building a Côte d’Ivoire that is ever more prosperous and united, » concluded the President, underscoring the nation’s collective commitment to this transformative journey.
