Gabonese political movements conclude national tour, advocate for unity

The People’s 7 Wonders Party (7MP) and the 100% Oligui Nguema Movement (MON 100%) jointly presented the findings of their extensive national tour on Friday at Cité Damas. This comprehensive outreach initiative, which spanned all nine provinces of Gabon from June 4 to June 25, 2026, culminated in a press conference where leaders discussed key insights and outlined their strategic path forward.

Under the leadership of Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, who serves as both the founding president of the 7MP and president of the MON 100%, the delegation engaged directly with citizens, party activists, and local community leaders. The primary objectives of this mission were to gather firsthand information on the populace’s concerns and to assess the prevailing social and political climate across the nation following the 2025 presidential election.

Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma further explained that the tour also served as a crucial exercise in strengthening the internal structures of both movements. He highlighted that since June 4, 2026, the 7MP and MON 100% have officially joined forces, building upon the momentum initiated on February 8, 2025.

During their various stops throughout the country, discussions frequently revolved around pressing issues articulated by the population. These included critical areas such as youth employment opportunities, access to potable water, the condition of national roadways, healthcare services, educational provisions, and the escalating cost of living. “We sought out our compatriots to listen intently and accurately evaluate the realities on the ground,” Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma stated.

The leaders of both organizations also reported significant progress in their internal operations. This included reorganizing their provincial coordination bodies, updating membership rosters, and welcoming numerous new adherents. “This mission enabled us to identify emerging local leaders, solidify the MON 100%’s presence across all nine provinces, and secure 1,000 new membership applications,” the movement’s president elaborated.

The press conference attracted several prominent political figures, notably Angélique Ngoma, the Secretary General of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), and Gervais Oniane, President of the Union for the Republic (UPR).

Gervais Oniane, addressing the assembly, urged all political parties to prioritize dialogue and collaborative consultation. He emphasized the critical importance of political parties working in concert, fostering a spirit of unity and shared responsibility to effectively support the ongoing national transformations.

Concluding the meeting, the leaders of the 7MP and MON 100% put forth a proposal for establishing a dedicated consultation platform. This platform would bring together all political parties that actively support the agenda of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, aiming to streamline coordination among these diverse political formations.
