Legal response from Sani Mouhamadou disputes claims over state institution interactions
In a formal legal response, Attorney Mélissa Nyoth, acting on behalf of Sani Mouhamadou, has categorically refuted assertions made in a recent press release attributed to Léopold Maxime Eko Eko.
The document, dated August 10, 2026, addresses statements made in a prior communication circulated in social media, which alleged that Sani Mouhamadou had referenced the Direction Générale de la Recherche Extérieure (DGRE) among Cameroonian state institutions that had engaged his services in 2020.
The opposing party claimed that Sani Mouhamadou had approached them unsolicited, failed to provide verifiable credentials, and was subsequently rejected by the DGRE, with no contractual or professional ties established.
In defense, Sani Mouhamadou emphasized that his original statement aimed solely to clarify facts following the circulation of videos on July 24 and 25, 2026, which he deemed damaging to his professional reputation. Crucially, he clarified that the name of Léopold Maxime Eko Eko was never mentioned in his initial communication.
The response further detailed a documented exchange from February 1, 2020, at 7:09 AM, in which Eko Eko allegedly reached out directly via messaging, stating: « I urgently need your assistance… ». This interaction, according to Sani Mouhamadou, substantiates his claim of being contacted first and possessing certified expertise from the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale.
Following receipt of the disputed press release, an informal amicable resolution was attempted but yielded no resolution. Sani Mouhamadou, asserting his commitment to protecting his professional integrity, has demanded the immediate retraction of the document within 48 hours. Failure to comply, he warned, would necessitate legal action under defamation laws based on the uncorroborated accusations presented.
