Niamey recently hosted a significant training session aimed at strengthening the intellectual resilience of religious leaders across Niger. Organized by the League of Ulemas, Preachers, and Imams of the Sahel (LOPIS) in close partnership with the Fusion and Liaison Unit (UNFL), the workshop focused on equipping participants with vital tools to combat extremist narratives.
The comprehensive program, held on Friday, was specifically designed for executives within Niger’s religious affairs sector. Its central theme, “Building Intellectual Immunity and Deconstructing Radicalized Discourse,” addressed critical challenges faced in the region. Participants engaged in discussions and modules crafted to enhance their ability to identify, analyze, and effectively counter radical ideologies, fostering a more informed and resilient religious community.
