Paris Saint-Germain have officially confirmed their first major summer departure, with Gonçalo Ramos completing a permanent move to AC Milan. The Portuguese striker leaves after three seasons in the capital, during which he won 12 trophies including two consecutive Champions League titles. His exit creates a void in the attack that the Parisian club is now looking to fill.
A surprise target emerges for PSG
According to sources close to the club, PSG’s recruitment team, led by Luis Campos, has identified an unexpected candidate to step into Ramos’s shoes: Folarin Balogun. The 24-year-old American international was AS Monaco’s top scorer last season, netting 19 goals in 43 appearances. Balogun also impressed during the World Cup hosted in the United States, adding to his growing reputation. His experience in Ligue 1, gained at Reims and now Monaco, makes him an attractive option for the capital club.
Monaco open to selling Balogun
While PSG have not yet made any formal approach, AS Monaco are reportedly open to a sale. The principality club faces financial constraints after missing out on Champions League qualification, and Balogun is among three players placed on the market alongside Lamine Camara and Maghnes Akliouche—the latter also a target for PSG. A double deal from Monaco is possible, but competition is fierce: Tottenham and Chelsea are also monitoring Balogun’s situation. The coming weeks will reveal whether the American forward becomes the next key signing for the Parisians.
