Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up for a high-stakes summer transfer campaign as they look to refresh their squad. The club has set its sights on a rising star who has captured attention during the early stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the Ivory Coast.
Manager steps in to secure Diomandé
The Parisians have identified Yan Diomandé, a 19-year-old winger from RB Leipzig, as a key target. Reports suggest Luis Enrique has taken a personal interest in the deal, believing the young Ivorian fits perfectly into his starting lineup, particularly if Bradley Barcola departs. However, the path to securing Diomandé is far from clear-cut, as Liverpool is also pursuing the player, with RB Leipzig demanding at least €120 million.
A fierce competition for the Ivorian talent
The transfer saga has even sparked reactions from the Ivory Coast camp. Following their 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea, coach Emerse Faé shared his thoughts on Diomandé’s future. «Journalists in France initially suggested he’d join PSG. Now in the U.S., I’m told he’s heading to Liverpool. We’ll see. Right now, he’s fully focused on the World Cup, and afterward, he’ll make the best decision for his career,» the coach explained during a press briefing.
