Tchad validation of AMGT strategic documents boosts N’Djamena’s development
The official launch of the validation workshop for the strategic documents of the Municipal Agency for Major Works (AMGT) marked a pivotal moment for N’Djamena’s urban progress. Held at the Radisson Blu hotel, the event brought together municipal directors, technical leaders, city officials, and specialists from the Center for Innovation and Development (CID) to review critical frameworks for the city’s future.
The opening ceremony was led by Sanoussi Hassana Abdoulaye, Mayor of N’Djamena, who highlighted the significance of these strategic documents in addressing the city’s most pressing challenges. These include rapid urbanization, demographic growth, inadequate infrastructure, sanitation gaps, and climate resilience—issues that demand robust, forward-thinking solutions.
The AMGT was established to empower the city with the tools needed to design, plan, finance, and execute transformative projects that align with public needs and development goals. Abdoulaye emphasized that the agency’s mission extends beyond infrastructure delivery; it is a cornerstone for efficient governance and sustainable urban management. He called on participants to engage openly, share insights, and contribute recommendations to refine the documents under review.
The key frameworks presented for validation include:
- Administrative, financial, and accounting management manual: A blueprint for transparent resource management and measurable outcomes.
- Monitoring and evaluation framework: A tool to enhance performance and foster accountability across projects.
- Environmental, social, and gender management framework: Ensures sustainable practices, social inclusion, gender equity, and environmental protection in every initiative.
Success, Abdoulaye noted, hinges on meticulous organization, strong governance, and uncompromising transparency. These documents are not merely procedural—they are the foundation for N’Djamena’s long-term growth, resilience, and equitable development.
