A delegation of election officials from the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (CENA) of Bénin is currently undergoing specialized training in New Delhi, India, focused on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance electoral processes.
The intensive five-day program, running from July 6 to 10, 2026, is hosted by the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) initiative. Its primary objective is to equip electoral administrators with cutting-edge tools and methodologies to modernize election management.
The curriculum covers a broad spectrum of AI applications in election administration, including digital governance, ethical considerations, human rights protection, cybersecurity, risk management, and the legal frameworks governing these technologies. Participants engage in lectures, case studies, hands-on demonstrations, interactive workshops, and peer exchanges with experts and election officials from various countries.
