Camrail announces nearly $1.25 billion injected into Cameroon’s economy over 27 years

Camrail, the operator of Cameroon’s railway network, has disclosed that its cumulative economic contribution to the country since 1999 amounts to 750 billion FCFA, or roughly $1.25 billion. The announcement was made by Pierre Ngon, the company’s managing director, during a press dinner held on June 22, 2026, in Douala. The figure underscores the long-term impact of the concession on Cameroon’s economic development.
