Côte d’Ivoire hosts major business networking event for african suppliers and investors

Côte d’Ivoire launches SIFIA 2026 to boost african business growth

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire (CCI-CI) officially inaugurated the second edition of the International Suppliers and Investors Fair of Africa (SIFIA 2026) in Abidjan on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Under the theme « Bridging businesses, building markets, and accelerating growth », the event brought together economic operators, investors, and partners for a dedicated business networking session.

The launch ceremony set the tone for three days of intensive exchanges, with Marc Ekressin, SIFIA’s Commissioner-General, emphasizing the transformative potential of the event. « This isn’t just another trade show. We’re here to discuss the growth of your businesses, » he stated, urging participants to leave with tangible outcomes: new clients, strategic partnerships, signed contracts, and expanded market access.

Building on past success to drive future impact

The first edition of SIFIA delivered impressive results: 130 exhibitors, 1,700 qualified visitors, 17 partnerships formalized, five international companies establishing operations in Côte d’Ivoire, and over 4.5 billion West African CFA francs in business transactions. Organizers are leveraging these achievements to scale up the second edition, introducing innovative tools to maximize value for participants.

The SIFIA IAPA platform stands out as a game-changer. Designed to support businesses before, during, and after the event, it streamlines the entire process—from identifying needs to securing prospects, scheduling meetings, and ensuring post-event follow-ups. « Every interaction should lead to a contract, » Ekressin emphasized, highlighting the platform’s role in turning connections into concrete business deals.

Calling for stronger support for small businesses

Ekressin also called on public authorities and financial institutions to enhance their support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small and medium industries (SMIs). He advocated for financing mechanisms better aligned with the realities these businesses face, ensuring they can fully capitalize on the opportunities SIFIA offers.

Addressing entrepreneurs directly, he delivered a clear message: « Don’t just book a booth. Reserve your growth. » The Commissioner-General urged business leaders to approach SIFIA 2026 not merely as an exhibition but as a strategic platform to propel their companies forward.

Connecting opportunities to accelerate private sector expansion

With a renewed focus on fostering meaningful business relationships, SIFIA 2026 aims to transform networking into actionable opportunities. By facilitating stronger ties between companies, investors, and partners, the event seeks to unlock new avenues for private sector growth across Africa.
