Dr Edouard Fonh-Gbéi receives prestigious honors in Abidjan
During the recent Soirée des Bâtisseurs de l’économie africaine held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Abidjan, the Director General of the National Committee for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information (CNTIG), Dr Edouard Fonh-Gbéi, was presented with a significant distinction. Dr Edouard Fonh-Gbéi took the helm of CNTIG in 2012 following an international selection process. As a geodesy engineer holding a doctorate in civil engineering with a specialization in satellite geodesy, he brought over two decades of international expertise to the role. Under his guidance, the promotion of geographic information technologies has become a vital component of the economic growth in Côte d’Ivoire.
His leadership has successfully positioned the institution as a central pillar in the digitalization of national territories. “I accept this award with gratitude, seeing it as a call to move forward with more ambition.
