Following his official appointment in March 2024 and the formal presentation of his credentials to President Kaïs Saïed on November 6, 2025, Pierre Ntsiet Ngolo, Gabon’s Ambassador to Tunisia, has articulated a clear vision for his diplomatic mission. A veteran in the field, Ngolo is dedicated to enhancing the partnership between Libreville and Tunis while ensuring the safety and prosperity of Gabonese nationals residing in the North African nation.
A primary focus for the new diplomatic leadership has been fostering unity among the diaspora. This initiative has led to the establishment of two pivotal organizations designed to provide support and coordination for the approximately 1,000 Gabonese citizens currently in Tunisia.

The first, the Council of Gabonese in Tunisia (C.G.T.), serves as an umbrella group for students, professionals, and families, emphasizing solidarity and mutual aid. The second, the Association of Gabonese Students and Interns in Tunisia (A.E.S.G.T.), specifically addresses the needs of the youth. Ambassador Ngolo noted that this newfound cohesion was prominently displayed during the inaugural Gabon Cultural Days held on April 24 and 25, showcasing the community’s shared values.
Strengthening bilateral foundations
Academic cooperation remains a cornerstone of the Gabon-Tunisia relationship. With a significant number of Gabonese students enrolled in Tunisian universities, the embassy is working to address the challenges they face, particularly regarding strict immigration policies. Many students struggle with administrative hurdles and residency permit renewals, often exacerbated by delays in tuition payments.
In response, the Ambassador has issued an urgent appeal to both families and the National Scholarship Agency of Gabon (ANBG). He emphasizes the need for timely financial support to prevent young compatriots from falling foul of Tunisian immigration regulations.
Beyond education, healthcare is a vital pillar of cooperation. A standing agreement between Gabon’s National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund (CNAMGS) and Tunisian medical specialists allows for high-quality medical evacuations, leveraging Tunisia’s advanced clinical expertise.
Ambassador Ngolo aims to build on these successes by exploring new avenues for economic diplomacy. He envisions a partnership based on co-development, where institutional dialogue and shared expertise drive growth for both nations.
Economic prospects and shared prosperity

The roadmap also highlights the importance of private sector engagement. By facilitating economic missions for Tunisian operators, the embassy hopes to secure new investment agreements and sustainable partnerships. This pan-African vision focuses on mutual prosperity and long-term stability.
Ultimately, the Ambassador’s tenure is defined by a commitment to consular assistance. By establishing mechanisms to support residents, he has addressed the community’s previous feelings of isolation, replacing them with a sense of belonging and unified purpose.
