The High Authority of Communication (HAC) in Gabon initiated the suspension of Info 241 due to a controversial article. Titled «Lanlaire exposes Oligui: €150,000 offered, compromising videos, bisexuality, 20 billion squandered…», the piece featured allegations from Anges Landry Mbeng, a Gabonese influencer residing in France, known by his pseudonym Lanlaire.

The HAC asserted that the Info 241 article contained «injurious, scandalous, and exceptionally virulent statements concerning the President of the Republic and his family.» The regulatory body declared that the media outlet had committed legal infringements, leading to its indefinite suspension.

In a public statement, Info 241 countered by accusing the HAC of misjudging the situation and making its «latest impulsive decision» «without even reading the article» in question.

This incident has sparked extensive debate across the nation. Numerous supporters of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema have issued calls for legal proceedings against Lanlaire and his alleged accomplices.
